Shadowing!

Yay!  After a few days of calling and e-mailing I finally got an Optometrist to allow me to shadow him.
The way it happened was hilarious too.  I called his office, and a man picked up.  I went through my story about being a student and wanting to gain experience and when I said I wanted to shadow an optometrist, all he said was "You want to shadow me?!".  That sort of threw me off, since I didn't know I was talking to the actual doctor.  haha  Then he said, "Soo..  do you just sit there and watch me or something?"  When you think about it, that is kind of what I do.
From then on, things got really informal (awesomeness!) and we went through times I could come in.  Basically, I can come in whenever I want and I'll just sit there and watch what he does, ask questions and such.  He also said that I could do some pre-screenings and help out with certain things.  We ended up agreeing on Friday and Saturday to start with.
Friday will also be quite interesting because, as he later realized, that day his office is getting a new camera, so they're taking the day off to play with it.  hahaha  His exact words were "From 8 to 11 we'll see patients and from 11 to 2 we'll be off taking pictures of each other".   So, on the whole, he seems like a really nice, down to earth guy, which is fantastic.  I'm hoping I'll get to know him well enough to get a recommendation from him.  :D

Selling books.

So.  I had an interesting ordeal today.  I was putting my textbook for a statistics class online to sell when it said I could presell it for 50 bucks.  I did and got an e-mail saying it had been canceled.  *shrugs*
I then just put it on that site for 65 bucks and went to another textbook selling site and sold it for 50 bucks again.  Then about a minute later it was sold for 70 bucks on the first site.  Sadly... I refunded the buyer giving me more (because I had to).  I checked to make sure the book was definitely down and not in my inventory and then went back to doing nothing.
About 15 minutes later, the book sold again.  this time for 55 dollars.  O_o   First of all, I had nothing being sold.  Second of all, why'd I only get 55 dollars when I had it up originally for 70.  So I refunded them too.
So in the end, I sold my book four times.  I was amazed at how wanted my book was.  I wish I had four copies.  I would have made more than 200...

Anyone want to buy it again?  Refund may or may not be included ;)

Meow?

So as soon as Allison posted her blog up, I realized I was bored and a blog would be a good way to destroy some of that devious boredom in its path. So here's my blog.
I can't think of blog names... :D
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
So this weekend was interesting... I absolutely love snow, but when it comes to driving in it. I drive like a grandma. You'd think after 20 years of being in CT I'd be used to it, buttt I'm not, since I avoid it at all costs. It figures the weekend I work (I only work every other weekend) we'd have two snow storms. I made it though! No fiery snow crashes for me! And I only almost slid into a car once! *high five* I'm telling you, next car I buy is going to be all wheel drive, or at least four wheel. Now that I'm home though, I'm enjoying the snow to the utmost. Yay!!! Cold white precipitation!!!!
Well, thats it for now. I have lots of hard work ahead of me tonight. Many, many cookies to bake. Why? Because cookie baking is awesome. And you know it.
PS:I realize we want to do a communal blog for those of us in America, but I decided to do one by myself in the meantime. If anyone wants me to start the communal one, telllll meeeee.
